TaniaPatient Care Coordinator
Tania has been with Eye Care Center of Ocala for 7 years now, starting as a combination of working the front desk and performing technician work. She moved up to focusing on the front desk, before solidifying her position in Patient Care Coordination with insurance verification. Tania spends virtually all of her free time with her daughter.
RainaPatient Care Coordinator
Raina was born and raised in Florida, and moved back to Ocala in 2012. At that time she became a patient of ours, and became a full member of our staff in 2018. Diligent and dedicated at work, Raina also helps run one of her family's two antique stores, and spends her free time with her niece and nephew.
LaurenPatient Care Coordinator
Lauren was born and raised here in Ocala, Florida, and has joined our Eye Care Center of OCala team in December of 2019. Though she is brand new to the optical field, she has experience in customer service, and is working at the Front Desk as a Patient Care Coordinator.
Currently studying to become an event coordinator, Lauren also spends her time outside work with her fiancé, family, and friends.
Katelynn started with Eye Care Center of Ocala in mid 2018. She is new to the field of eye care, however, has worked in the medical field with office experience since 2015. She enjoys spending time with her family, her church and doing at home projects.
JenniferOptical Manager and Eyewear Consultant
Jennifer is currently studying to be a licensed optician, and has been in the industry for five years. She began working for Dr. Shaw and Dr. Strucko back in 2012 when they were located inside of LensCrafters, and moved with them when they bought Eye Care Center of Ocala. She is mainly involved in the assistance of patients with glasses and working in our onsite labaratory.
Natasha has been in the optical industry for 12 years, beginning in a front desk position, before working her way up into both eyewear consultation and management. She joined the Eye Care Center of Ocala team a little over a year ago, and will probably be the one taking care of your eyewear needs!
Natasha spends her free time with her family, doing any and all sorts of outdoors activities: hiking, the beach, anything in the sun!
Originally from Miami, Freddy moved here to Ocala in 2015. He was previously a nursing assistant at an otolaryngology clinic, and has now been in the optical industry for the past 4 years. He is currently enrolled as an apprentice optician, studying under Dr. Cevallos, along with being an eyewear consultant here with us. In his free time, Freddy enjoys kayaking, hiking, swimming, and spending time with his especially cute dog.
Leslie has been in the optical business for 30 years, having studied and become a licensed optician in the year of 1997. Since then, she has lent her vast experience in the field to various locations, before becoming part of the Eye Care Center of Ocala team to this day. When she's not acting as the heart of the optical, Leslie is more than willing to spend her time traveling.
Penny hails from Reno, Nevada, bringing with her 38 years of experience in the optical industry. From frame selection, lens consultation, and her wealth of wisdom, you can count on her to lead you to finding the best eyewear for you.
When she's not hard at work with us, she enjoys reading mystery plots and spending time with her husband and family, and her energetic dog, Pieper.
Tony, originally from Kingston, New York, started in the optical field as an apprentice optician in 1967. Along with training as an optician, he has learned and trained to fabricate custom eyewear, involved in the cutting and shaping of the lenses of the eyewear itself. Perhaps one of your own glasses may be handcrafted by Tony himself!
Tony has been married to his loving wife Marian for 34 years. He enjoys golf, walking his dogs, woodworking, and spends his summers in Maine with his family.
LoriTechnician Manager / Scribe
Lori has been in the industry for 19 years. She got her start with Dr. Terrie and Dr. Ray Overholser before the merger that created Eye Care Center of Ocala. Diligently motivated for excellent patient care, she is constantly striving to make every patient she encounters feel welcomed and comfortable. Away from work, she is involved with her church and loves spending time with her family.
MitchellTechnician / Scribe
Mitchell is an Ocala native, and started in the eye care industry in 2011 with Dr. Shaw and Dr. Strucko at Lenscrafters. He attended Liberty University and obtained his B.S. in Biblical and Theological Studies, and is currently attending Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to earn his M.A. in Biblical Counseling. In his free time he enjoys reading, spending time with his wife and children, and playing golf.
Jessica relocated to Dunnellon after her high school graduation in 2011, originally from New Jersey. She started with Eye Care Center of Ocala in early 2017, and since then has grown so much and is now working side-by-side with the doctors as a scribe in training. In her free time, she likes to go mud bogging with her family and loves snuggling with her three cats. Jessica also just recently got Engaged in November 2019!
Lindsey started with Eye Care Center of Ocala in early 2017 but has been involved in the medical field since 2015. In her free time, she loves to spend time at the local race tracks driving race cars, and spending time with her family and loved ones.
Elyna was born in Florence, South Carolina and started with Eye Care Center of Ocala in early 2019. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Pre-Clinical Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida. When away from work, she enjoys being involved with her family and church, and working on their family farm.
Herb moved to Ocala in 2007 from Puerto Rico, before going to Orlando to study at the University of Central Florida in 2013. Now, after a year in the optical industry as a sales associate, Herb is part of our Eye Care Center of Ocala team as a technician. Outside of work, he spends his free time playing video games, but most of the time, he's catching up on his sleep.
